Our Services
T. Friend Interiors offers full interior design services, from the concept and design phases through purchasing and final installation. Scope of work ranges from the design of a home addition or remodel and ground-up new construction of homes. We frequently work closely with architects, landscape designers and builders in projects that involve architectural design and construction from the ground-up. For smaller projects that don’t require an architect, we will work directly with the client and/or contractor. We do not provide working/ CAD drawings.
We have worked on projects throughout the country, from the East Coast to the Pacific Northwest and San Francisco Bay Area. We pride ourselves in providing great service and results and do it with the help of a group of trusted vendors, craftsmen and installers.
The design process consists of the following four phases.
Design Process
1. Consultation
We start by scheduling a call with potential clients to discuss the project. Next, we will meet in person, and on site if possible, to get to know the clients, their lifestyle, their preferred aesthetic, and their wishes for the project. This allows us to establish the overall look, feel, and purpose of the project. Ideally, during this initial phase, we also hold a joint meeting with the clients, the project architect, and the contractor.
2. Design Consult
As we move forward, we provide sketches, layouts and materials samples to the clients. We will also review a list of items to be purchased for the job, in order for the clients to get an overall sense of scope and what will need to be designed, refurbished, created or ordered. It is important that the interiors we propose fit not just the clients’ lifestyle and aesthetic but also their budget.
3. Purchasing
Once the clients approve the design, we move to the third phase in the process, the specifying and purchasing. Orders are placed, and followed up on until they reach a receiver, where they will be checked upon delivery and stored.
4. Installation
Lastly (and one of the best moments), when the initial vision becomes a reality. When the space is ready and all items have been delivered, everything will be installed under our supervision and the space will be turned over to our clients.
